Home remedy for cuts and injuries

If you have a big gash or cut which is not a fracture

Apply a pinch of turmeric to cover the whole bleeding part

Press and hold for few minutes.

Turmeric is a disinfectant.
Turmeric clots blood.
Turmeric has minerals that help in healing.

Home remedy for dead skins

Home remedy for dead skins or dry patches on face or any part of the body.

Take a tomato and scoop out the pulp.
Mash it with a spoon.
Apply the paste on the skin where the skin looks dry or dead.
Let it dry on the skin.
Wash with luke warm water and pat dry.

Continue once a week till you get a glowing skin and the dead skins have peeled off.

Bronchitis and chest congestion

Chest congestion can happen in young and old and at any age.
This happens due to mucus formation in the air track.
Heavy coughing and chest pain happens due to the above reason.

Take half lemon.
Sprinkle dry ginger powder (sonth in hindi) on the wet surface.
Roast the lemon, preferably on coal fire. You can also roast in kitchen gas.
Suck the juice out of the lemon and gulp it down.

This creates ample heating around the chest. This will help mucus to loosen and seep out. The mucus will travel out of the body through the food track. No cough will come out from nose or mouth. This remedy is to be used only once a day till the coughing subsides.

Mouth ulcer

Jeera chaas or Jeera Taak
Mouth ulcer is mostly caused due to heated bowel. Mostly happens in the summer days. Sometimes it can also be caused due to spicy or heavy food intake.

Remedy: Cumin butter milk. Mostly caused as Jeera buttermilk or Jeera chaas or Jeera Taak

Roast cumin on a griddle till they start to turn reddish brown.
Remove from griddle, cool and crush coarsely.
Take a spoon or two full curd in a glass and beat till bubbles form.
Add the cumin powder and a pinch of powdered rock salt.
Mix well with a spoon.
Add cold water till the glass is full while keep mixing with the spoon.

Consume this on a regular basis. Use this concoction instead of water whenever you are thirsty.

Mouth ulcer will be gone within a day.


Arthritis knee pain joint pain

Knee or joint pain in older people is sometimes caused due to arthritis. Mostly the cause of this is drying of the padding liquid between the joints. This can be replenished using the following remedy using coconut oil and kapoor(camphor).

Take 250ml coconut oil.
Store the oil in a convenient storage bottle
Add 2-3 pieces of camphor (kapoor) in the oil and shake well.
Camphor will dissolve in few hours.

Use this oil regularly in the affected area. Compulsorily do it before sleep time for the camphor to take effect.

Make small batches and use it up soon as the camphor tends to vaporize.

This oil is also useful for people with no joint ailments for a good overall health.



Roasted chana for dry cough

Dry cough can be irritating and can force fatigue due to loss of proper sleep at night.

Roasted chana is a home remedy that can be used to sooth the cough.

How to use:
Just before going to sleep at night grab a handful of roasted chana.
Chew on them and go to sleep.
Do not drink any water soon after the intake of the roasted chana.

The chewed chana powder will flush out the stagnant cough that causes cough during sleep.
Cough will be extracted out of the body through the food track.
As the coughing stops at night an you will have a good night sleep, body automatically heals itself.

Night-flowering jasmine, Parijat, Harsingar, Pārijāta

Night-flowering jasmine has its various benefits.

Leaves:
It provides treatments for Dengue, Chikunngunya, Malaria and Arthritis. It prevents gas, radical damage, treats cough, fights breathing problems, etc. Additionally it has anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties which make it fight various infections in the body. It also acts as a laxative in most cases.

The leaves of Harsingar contains benzoic acid, fructose, glucose, carotene, amorphous resin, ascorbic acid, methyl salicylate, tannic acid, oleanolic acid and flavanol glycosides.

The leaves are anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic, anti-oxidative and anti-fungal.

The juice of its leaves is bitter and saline in taste and provides effective relief in the treatment of several types of inflammation and fever including malaria, intermittent fever, common cough and cold.

It also provides an assured remedy for various body disorders ranging from common cough and cold to arthritis and sciatica.

The juice of its leaves when mixed with a little sugar is a good medicine for treatment of stomach ailments of children.


Flowers:
The flowers bloom at night and drop down from the branches at the first rays of light

The flowers are very beneficial as it contains essential oils and glycosides.

The flowers are diuretic, anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and sedative.

The flower oil is also very prominently used as a perfume.

The flower has a very strong fragrance, hence is used for making incense sticks.

Seeds:
The seeds contain palmitic, oleic and myristic acids.

 Parijat is also used in making different ‘face packs’, as it achieves a gaudy shine to the face and gives guaranteed remedy to a variety of skin ailments.

In the treatment of skin diseases and constipation, the seeds of the Parijat tree are used.

Bark:
The bark of this plant is useful due to its alkaloids and glycosides content.
